When runnning main executable 'Diggles.exe'

Game Diggles: The Myth of Fenris

Crashes on startup (log attached), the screen becomes black for a second or
two.

This is the log from wine-stable

wine --version
wine-5.0 (Ubuntu 5.0-3ubuntu1)

Behavior is the same - black screen when launched main executable, then crash.

Note: The version of the (re-release) is - 2.1.0.21 (AppDB link
https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=706 , lists
only original game versions)

Is this still an issue in recent Wine?

I tested with the GOG version (Diggles v2.1.1.10).
I reproduced the crash with Wine-7.0 and Wine-8.0, but the game starts properly
in Wine-9.0 and newer (except for the bug #56976 in 9.13).
