Summary: Mouse stuck in center in Zoo Empire Product: Wine Version: 1.0-rc1 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-dinput AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: kazade@gmail.com
The game "Zoo Empire" installs and runs perfectly in Wine 1.0-rc1 until you get to the main menu. At this point the cursor moves to the center of the screen and will continue to warp back as you attempt to move it away. It is impossible to start a new game.

"trace:dinput:IDirectInputDevice2AImpl_GetDeviceData Returning 0 events queued"

--- Comment #2 from Louis Lenders xerox_xerox2000@yahoo.co.uk 2008-05-18 03:28:05 --- Does it work correctly with native dinput?

--- Comment #3 from Luke Benstead kazade@gmail.com 2008-05-18 04:14:32 --- Overriding dinput8.dll DOES fix the cursor problem, although I have to move the cursor slightly up and left of the menu item to select it.

--- Comment #5 from Hewus hewus.owns@gmail.com 2008-07-06 00:38:14 --- This happens with the Dungeon Keeper 2 menu as well. Using the native dinput.dll from my Windows XP partition (md5sum e028b7125b7b8da90f55b23fc6a20631), the cursor no longer experienced this bug, but was boxed in to a smaller section of the screen. Using dinput.dll from dll-files.com (md5sum a85bb56e31c38f02fe351d5b6e4adabf), the issue disappeared and the game was playable. wine-1.1.0

--- Comment #7 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2008-08-20 10:51:34 --- Today's GIT added a workaround: Set [HKCU\Software\Wine\DirectInput] "MouseWarpOverride" to "disable" to disable mouse warping. It can also be set per application.
Of course the bug is still not fixed.
