--- Comment #1 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2008-11-10 23:13:32 --- Still present, sorta. I don't get that error, but I do get that page saying click here, which fails with a flood of: fixme:msimtf:ActiveIMMApp_OnDefWindowProc Stub (0x30028 20 40064 2000001) fixme:msimtf:ActiveIMMApp_OnDefWindowProc Stub (0x30036 20 40064 2000001)

then an IE error window pops up, after trying to open a webpage, res://wmploc.dll/Offline_MediaGuide.htm
That second bug is probably in wininet.

How to exactly reproduce the bug?
Media player version? No clear instructions given. Austin has tested this year 2010. The url doesn't point into download.

--- Comment #6 from Rosanne DiMesio dimesio@earthlink.net --- The link in the URL field is for the AppDB entry for WMP9, so presumably that's the version that was used. That versions still installs with winetricks, but won't start.
WMP10 installs and starts, but I don't see anything about any "Online Media Guide." There is an "Online Stores" tab, but it says that there are no online stores available. That may not be a Wine bug; WMP 9 and 10 were designed for XP, which completely ended support in 2014, so the online guide or stores may no longer be accessible from those versions.
Someone needs to check whether this still works in Windows.

Someone needs to check whether this still works in Windows.
I had an XP VM that already had WMP 11 installed. That does have a "Media Guide" tab, but when it tries to connect, produces a "Page not found" error.
Marking abandoned, as this is no longer testable.
