Summary: TurboCad LE will not open files , will not close Product: Wine Version: 0.9.42. Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: wine-winelib AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: tedhansen@sasktel.net
Created an attachment (id=9163) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=9163) debug log file
Beginning with version 0.9.42, Turbocad LE freezes on attempting to open a file and the program will not shut down. Kwin must be used to terminate the program following a "window fails to respond" warning. The problem is in libwine, downgrading libwine to a version lower than 0.9.42 (all else same) solves the problem. I have tested using libwine 0.9.42, 43 and 44. I cannot test higher than 0.9.44 as that is the highest Debian package currently available and I am never successful trying to compile from source. Debug log file is attached. Note that this is using native msvcrt.dll as in the apps database for this application.

--- Comment #2 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2007-11-15 14:48:19 --- How about removing libwine? It have to be part of the Wine package itself. If not, then this bug is invalid and you have to ask debian packagers to fix their packages.
If you having problems compiling Wine, contact packagers for your distro to build it for you.
Invalid until updated to latest version - 0.9.49

--- Comment #3 from Ted Hansen tedhansen@sasktel.net 2007-11-15 15:36:25 --- I will try to do the regression testing. As for removing libwine, this is impossible, removing libwine removes wine totally. It is possible to upgrade/downgrade libwine but not completely remove it. I will also *try* to compile 0.9.49 to test it. This bug should not be marked as resolved yet because it isn't resolved. "Unconfirmed" for 0.9.49 is more appropriate. If someone has 0.9.49 working on their system, perhaps they could help by testing Turbocad to see if it will open a file.

--- Comment #4 from Ted Hansen tedhansen@sasktel.net 2007-11-15 17:14:50 --- I have installed wine 0.9.49 and libwine 0.9.49 from winehq binary downloads & this bug still exists in version 0.9.49. Will attempt regression testing next.

--- Comment #5 from Ted Hansen tedhansen@sasktel.net 2007-11-21 12:09:45 --- Unable to trace this bug with regression testing. Other testing indicates that the bug is due to *something* in my wine setup...possible some sort of dll conflict with a dll from another application. Bug does not exist after starting with a new wine install and all new configuration files.
