When trying to run Rome: Total War(1.5) is crashes when trying to play the
intro video. I renamed the intro video(s) and the game happily skipped them.
Before the crash I see a window called "ActiveMovie Window".

I should add that if I deactive winegstreamer.dll in winecfg it works.

'winetricks quartz wmp9' would probably also workaround it.

Does the demo have the same problem?

Still present in Wine 1.5.5. I tested with the Steam version of Rome:TW.
Disabling winegstreamer works around the crash.
I have a feeling that this bug report is about the same problem as bug #28210.
