--- Comment #1 from Andrew Charles Hurst a.hurst@shef.ac.uk 2009-09-20 16:23:45 --- Hi, I'm the GF app maintainer (in AppDB). Since the bug refers to a third party hack for GF, not the game itself, your link is a bit tenuous (I think bug links are supposed to be only for an application in which the bug occurs).. but since it's of interest to GF users, I'm happy for it to be there.
You should submit Grim Launcher into the AppDB: GF fans running wine would be glad to see it.
Also, if Grim Launcher worked in a previous wine version, add 'regression' to the keywords: and consider helping out by running a regression test to find which wine patch killed it!
Thanks, Andy

--- Comment #2 from Peter Dons Tychsen donpedro@tdcadsl.dk 2009-09-20 20:01:42 --- I can launch the launcher itself without any problems.
Does this occur when starting launcher or starting game?

I already gave link for it in this bug report.

It's not "Grim Launcher.exe" (version 1.3) but "Grim Fandango Launcher.exe" (version 1.5). Version 1.3 works for me and Version 1.5 doesn't work (tested on Wine-1.0.1 , 1.1.15, 1.1.29) so it definitely isn't a regression. Download and try it for yourself, then please say you've got the same problem and somebody will mark this bug as confirmed.

It occurs when starting launcher.

--- Comment #4 from Andrew Charles Hurst a.hurst@shef.ac.uk 2009-09-21 04:24:13 --- Lukasz, bugs do not serve as a useful place to document applications - that's what the AppDB is for. I am asking you to add Grim Launcher to the AppDB, since it is an independent application.
For me Grim Launcher 1.5 launches fine. However, it causes a crash when starting the Grim Fandango game. (Click 'Play Windowed' or 'Play Fullscreen')

I don't document application but give link for someone who want to solve this bug. It's easier for developer if he has got application right in front of him.
For me Grim Launcher 1.5 launches fine.
So you must be the lucky one cause it fails on Wine 1.1.29 on two different PCs one with Ubuntu 8.10 and one with Fedora 11

--- Comment #7 from Andrew Charles Hurst a.hurst@shef.ac.uk 2009-09-21 05:44:27 --- Again I forgot: my test was with latest git version. Pedro, what about yours?
Lukasz, never mind, I'll enter it into the AppB myself, and point the buglink to the right place.

my test was with latest git version.
I tested it with wine-git (wine-1.1.29-410-gbae9e56) too and you've got right, it works. I think this bug is resolved in Wine-1.1.30

--- Comment #10 from NSLW lukasz.wojnilowicz@gmail.com 2009-09-21 06:30:15 --- (In reply to comment #9) Launches but only if I select "RUN GRIM FROM HARDDRIVE" otherwise I get errors and game doesn't launch.

--- Comment #11 from Andrew Charles Hurst a.hurst@shef.ac.uk 2009-09-21 07:06:50 --- Thanks Lukasz, would you like to enter a new bug for the next Grim Launcher problem?
Then you can link the bug to this: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=10355 :)
