--- Comment #2 from Miklós Máté mtmkls@gmail.com --- Does it help if you remove the intro movies? Renaming the "movies" folder should do the trick.

--- Comment #3 from winetest@luukku.com --- The crash location is somehow familiar. To me it looks like it's libgstreamer related. Missing plugins? Does overriding libgstreamer or disabling it compile time help?

--- Comment #4 from winetest@luukku.com --- According to appdb
"Additional Comments
To play this game you have to disable winegstramer library.
Installed in a 32-bit prefix."
test was doe with wine-staging 2.8

--- Comment #5 from Miklós Máté mtmkls@gmail.com --- I forgot to add in my previous comment that I've submitted a few patches a while ago that fix crashes in quartz and winegstreamer. Those might help with this problem.

Hello,
thank you very much for your comments. In wine 2.12 startup still doesn't work and I don't know where to find the movies folder.

--- Comment #7 from Benjamin Hodgetts ben@xnode.org --- Maik: The movies folder will be inside the GTA3 folder, which in turn will be inside the Steam folder.
The default location (on Windows) is C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\
Inside there should be a GTA3 folder, so have a poke around in there. Wine's virtual Windows filesystem, if you're unsure, should be located in ~/.wine/drive_c.

--- Comment #8 from Miklós Máté mtmkls@gmail.com --- With current wine the video playback works fine after installing gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad:i386 for mpeg1 support. The game itself was running perfectly even 3 years ago when I last commented on this bug. The same applies to Vice City.
How can I close this bug?
