If someone who is experiencing this bug can compile an older wine than 0.9.8, then _please_do_some_regression_testing_; try something like wine20041201, and try to find the last working version. I'd do it myself if I could compile anything older than 0.9.8. 0.9.8 was released in february 2006 (if I'm reading the changlog correctly).
I'd be willing to try, but I don't know where to get the sources. I found the individual source files for wine20041201 at

but is there a place from which I can download a single bzip?
