right after i installed starcraft and updated it it gave me this error and
refuses to run

Im running the full game
I tried wine 1.2.2 and 1.3.15
all it tells me is "wine program crash internal errors - invalid parameters
received"

There is a free demo, though I don't see this problem.

I believe I have reproduced this bug while regression testing for another bug.
The first time Wine is run after re-compiling with some versions of Wine, it
will produce this error.

It's likely that the ie7 module installed is not cooperating with Wine.

I get a crash immediately after starting starcraft with the new 1.5 patch. It
loaded fine directly after the patch, but on restart, this happens every time.
Game won't start. Let me know if you need any more info.

I'm seeing this same error on wine 1.5.6.  I'd be happy to help debug the
problem if someone can give me instructions for gathering further information.

I got the latest source from git and built it. I had a similar problem and it
seemed to fix it for me. See if that works for you.

Yes -- I updated to 1.5.10 (latest available in gentoo) and that fixed it.
