This isn't critical.

The biggest difference to my knowledge is that he is using Gnome. I used KDE4 in my test and while having some artifacts, none were as significant as those displayed here.
The only related thing i have found would be this, really old, bug: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3637
I know from personal experience that it is quite usual to use the WM_PAINT message to initiate repaints, many visual components depend on it.

With this I did not imply that the bug should be categorized as critical.
However, for the normal-to-advanced end user it will probably mean that they won't feel comfortable or be able to use the application it which means it actually is quite serious.
If one would follow the "seriousness" categories to the letter this bug is a "UI glitch that doesn't affect running of a program", hence trivial. I'd say normal.
To be honest, the severity categorization wine uses is perfect for server applications but quite inappropriate for GUI-based end-user applications, but I won't elaborate on that here.

Not critical. Read severity descriptions before changing it.
Minor = "For minor loss of functionality, or other problem where an easy workaround is present"
This is exactly what I meant earlier about the severity classifications. When they are applied to GUI-based end-user applications it become ridiculus. The screen is actually almost _pitch_black_ in one of the shots. Minor? I proposed "normal" in my comment earlier, i feel that is more reasonable.
How many users would accept that a _computer_graphics_ application behaves this way? Adobe would be the laughing stock of the business if it classified this bug as minor. GIMP too.
This is a total show stopper concerning the most central functionality of the program, almost equal to the application crashing on boot.

The application looks very usable, this isn't a crash on boot. Nethertheless, changing the severity will have very little impact on how quickly the bug will be fixed.

Ok, if you think those screenshots have the looks of a usable application, I don't know what to say.
I did not say it was a crash on boot. I said that this is almost equal to a crash on boot. To a user, that is.
And if the severity classification has barely no impact on it's priority, then what's the point of it?

That's kind of my point, it doesn't matter if an application is technically *usable* if no one wants to use it that way. I(having been into computers and programming for 25+ years) wouldn't want to use it that way, and for a normal user, this means totally and utter unusable.
Have you tried the suggestion that Vitaliy Margolen had, disabling 3D stuff? I don't use gnome, but the settings should be locate somewhere like Systems>preferences>desktop effects.

Ok. While disregarding your tone(again, "spam"?):
Since it's not like he hasn't put enough effort in explaining his problem, I suspect that he has simply not seen your post and then not been around to read my post (that quotes you and also tells him to check these things). I'd give him the benefit of the doubt if I were you.

I like it's wobbly windows^^ Should I open a new bug to use Photoshop CS4 with Compiz? Or it would be better that any other person open a bug. I can't explain very well and it's more difficult to do it in english (I'm from Germany).
