The latest Quicktime from the apple website (7.4.5?) installs correctly, but closes after the interface says "switching" upon loading. I have used winetricks to resolve a few problems for other applications (gdiplus, msvc runtimes for 8).

I see roughly the same problem as you, though for me it doesn't crash until I open a sample movie.
