After upgrading to Wine 1.1.6 sound/music in games is crackling, like very
small interrupts all the time. Downgrading fixed it. But when I tired
Pulseaudio 0.9.13 I had the same problem all the time.
I run alsa sound through pulseaudio with the default settings in ubuntu
intrepid.
So far I have only tried World of Warcraft and Diablo 2.

Pulse 0.9.10 is from Ubuntu Intrepid and 0.9.13 is from Luke Yelavich's PPA at

Distribution: Ubuntu Intrepid
Platform: AMD64
PA 0.9.10 default sample type: s16le 2ch 44100Hz

I experienced the same when upgrading to Ubuntu 8.10.

Wine 1.1.6 worked fine in Ubuntu 8.04, but the sound get small disruptions in
8.10.

I found the following bug in launchpad:

A workaround is to switch sound driver in wine from alsa to OSS.

This bug is duplicate of http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15559

But to be fair, this bug affects all games and programs using Alsa, not only
KOTOR.
