This log is when I used the builtin rcprt4.dll vice the one from DCOM98, which did not solve the installation failure.

--- Comment #2 from Yolande Haneder yolande@haneder.biz 2007-12-09 00:52:11 --- Dear James,
Try with the GIT from Friday. At least on my side (with XP), it has been installing again to the same point as from 0.9.49 with GIT of 17 (after which it got broken)

--- Comment #3 from James McKenzie jjmckenzie51@sprintpcs.com 2007-12-11 19:02:16 --- Yolande: Git does not exist, at this time, for the Mac. Fink lists it as unstable, and several other sites state that Git does not work on Tiger. James

--- Comment #4 from Yolande Haneder yolande@haneder.biz 2007-12-11 23:43:41 --- I am sorry.
I talking from the GIT but not using it either. On SUSE, there is a compiled version each day of the last stand of the GIT developments (called "snapshot"). Maybe there is one thing similar for the Mac. It's quite bad because the best version for the NET was on the snapshot of the 17., thus a bit further than 0.9.49 (from this time, on, I strongly reduced the dlls required since C++ installation is not required anymore, the page fault problem for net applications got solved at that point). and it seemed that some ole developments broke with with it starting working from last week on again.
One thing to note if you are using the version 0.9.50. Try to launch the installation of the .NET TWICE. On the first time you get the memory problem, on the second time not (only working for this component however).
If nothing big happens until the next version, you will be able to play with it soon.

The use of winetricks script doesn't qualify .NET 2.0 install process as "fixed".
But you are right, this specific bug report should be _closed_ as there exist other bug reports which describe/target all remaining issues. Refer to appdb bug list and notes, http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=3754 for information.
