In general any recipe that has a step "... and mark this DLL as override ..." cannot be used to close a bug in wine. (In this case you're fine since wine does not ship a mfc42.dll, but e.g. marking ole32 as override is never going to fly, as Wine does include ole32.dll, and the dlls that do come with Wine *have to work*.)
