Summary: Wine -> Programs: Start menu entries not created Product: Wine Version: 1.1.6 Platform: PC URL: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version &iId=15969 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P3 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: chris@juengling-edv.de
The installer file of IMatch creates a Start Menu entry when running in Windows 2000 Professional (no matter if natively installed or running in a VirtualBox), but does not in WINE. In WINE only 2 desktop icons are created: "IMatch 3.6.lnk" with the MS Windows icon on it, and "IMatch 3.6" with the usual IMatch icon.

--- Comment #3 from Scott Ritchie scott@open-vote.org 2009-07-14 00:41:24 --- Is this still a problem on latest (1.1.25 or newer) Wine?

--- Comment #4 from Christoph Jüngling chris@juengling-edv.de 2009-07-17 13:35:04 --- I have currently just WINE 1.1.19 on Ubuntu 8.10 (KDE 4), wherein the menu in "Wine -> Programs" remains unchanged. Nevertheless the Windows Start menu folder in C: (accessing via Linux file system ~/.wine/drive_c/users/...) seems to be built correctly. Additionally 2 desktop icons ("IMatch 3.6" and "IMatch 3.6.lnk") were created, the first one with the correct icon for the program.

--- Comment #5 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2009-07-18 10:36:11 --- Please upgrade to latest Wine version (wine-1.1.26) and retest.

--- Comment #6 from Christoph Jüngling chris@juengling-edv.de 2009-07-18 11:00:02 --- With WINE 1.1.26 I see teh same behaviour as previously reported. In KDE's "startmenu" --> Wine --> Programme --> ... there is only "Zubehör" --> "Editor". But the desktop icon starts the program as requested.

--- Comment #7 from Christoph Jüngling chris@juengling-edv.de 2010-03-28 09:07:00 --- Now using Ubuntu 9.10 and WINE 1.1.41, the start menu entries are correctly created. Hence I set this bug to resolved/worksforme.
