Bug ID: 52425 Summary: TheBat! E-Mail client fault with WINE 7.0 Product: Wine Version: 7.0 Hardware: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: jarnersr@wyomerc.com Distribution: ---
Linux Mint 20.2 With the update to WINE 7.0, TheBat! stopped working properly. Connection is made, to the server, but no messages are downloaded. Status bar shows 'Authenticated (plain)', but no further action. I used Timeshift to restore my system to a backup made before the WINE update. WINE version, now running, is 6.0.2, TheBat! version is 9.1

--- Comment #2 from Fabian Maurer dark.shadow4@web.de --- I assume it's https://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/download.php, is that right? What version are you running, 32bit or 64bit?
Is there a way to test this without having to use a real mail account?

I have not done so. Don't have time to do such a test at this time. Jim

Yes, that's the correct e-mail client program - although I'm running version 9.1 (64 bit) whereas the latest version of TheBat! (as shown) is 9.5 - As new versions of WINE are released, I could test on my laptop rather than affecting my primary computer (tower). Jim

--- Comment #5 from jarnersr@wyomerc.com --- Further research shows that this affects e-mail accounts configured as POP3, accounts configured as IMAP are not affected. Thus, the transport routines for POP3, must have been deprecated in WINE 7.0 Jim

--- Comment #6 from Alex Henrie alexhenrie24@gmail.com --- I set up a Dovecot POP3 server on localhost and The Bat 9.1.18 (64-bit) on Wine 7.0 was able to connect to it and download mail without any problems.
Is it possible that your mail provider changed their POP3 settings, and this doesn't have anything to do with Wine at all?
