Error log generated when trying to start file raytechnavigator.exe

Program Raymarine Planner works under windws and can be successfully installed
using wine.  On launching the programme raytechnavigator.exe, an error is
generated as per the attachment backtrace.txt

Not a blocker. Please retest in 1.5.19 and attach the full terminal output.

This is my backtrace. I'll be glad to help in testing.

The same happens under Crossover Office, I have a backtrace for that as well if
that will help.

This is the backtrace from running RNS 6.2 under Crossover Office under Wine.

I've run diff on the two tracebacks and shall attach its results next.

RNS CXO & Wine diff results

Contains the results of

diff Raytech_backtrace_crossover.txt  Raytech_backtrace_wine.txt >RNS_diff.txt

It's all greek to me, but may help find the culprit...

Thank you for your service. I am confirming the originally reported bug. 
RNS 6.2 is available for download at
     http://www.raymarine.com/knowledgebase/index.cfm?view=5313

I have contacted CXO. They (Andrew Balfour) have tried running it and confirmed
that it also fails.

I have attached traceback files for both the CXO and straight-stick wine
implementations.

I'll be pleased to help with patch testing, just let me know how.

It does run just fine under VirtualBox.

My OS is openSUSE 12.3.

For what it's worth, the utilities installed with RNS (RayTech Instrument
Configuration and RayTech Repair) seem to run just fine. The latter starts with
Disable HSB Server checked. There are sixteen possible options, so checking
them all is not feasible... (even 16 choose 2 renders 120 different
combinations... :-(

So brute force won't work.

I did try disabling the CMAP, Intellimouse, and other obvious options to
minimize the number of variables, but it still crashes after the splash screen.

Maybe the backtrace gives a clue to someone accomplished in reading such
things...

year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.37 or newer) wine? If so, please

The download mentioned at comment 5 points to 6.2 version.

it needs winetricks -q mfc42 jet40 before running.

I am stuck at initiliazing raytech progress bar. I don't know if waiting solves
this.

wine 1.9.12-git and staging 1.9.12
