It just crashed silently to desktop. No crashlog whatsoever.
But I added an output.txt generated with WINEDEBUG=+all wine ww2.exe &> output.txt now, maybe that sheds some light.

Afaik there is no demo of the remastered version that is sold on GOG, only for the old version, see the other comment here. Those differ a bit.
Old output.txt has a typo in it anyway. Attached a new one with WINEDEBUG=+seh wine w2.exe &> output.txt

From the log is seems like the remastered version too has a problem with
loading the video, though I don't know how to fix it. "winetricks devenum quartz" might get you further, but no guarantees.
Or try deleting/moving the files in "Team17/WWP Demo/data/Streams/", if it's in remastered the same...

Galaxy is GOG's client and Windows exclusive. It shouldn't be the cause or otherwise the game would crashing silently for people who do not have Galaxy installed at all and that isn't the case. If a game has achievements and such, it should look for Galaxy but not crash or hang because Galaxy is absent on a user's system.
