I have some problems with a Watchtower Library 2007 (japanese version) application. The application crashes on startup. It seems to be linked with font initialization. Please see attached log file.
I have installed msttcorefont files on my system (ubuntu8.04)
Recently i was able to use it with Ubuntu7.10 and wine 0.9.47 with some fonts files in windows\font folder.
PS: my french version of Watchtower Library 2007 works fine...

cd ~/.wine/drive_c/windows rm -rf Fonts
now make a symbolic Link to folder Fonts in MS windows ln -s /media/yourWindowslocation/Windows/Fonts Fonts
Done!! ========================================= Wine 1.1.12 works but the menu has problem, other functions work fine. for this problem you can do fellows: run regedit im CML: wine regedit then go to the reg key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes
hier you will find something like this: “MS Shell Dlg”=”SimSun” “MS Shell Dlg 2″=”SimSun” hier i change the both shell fonts as Songti, you can change them as one in your language.

Note: to do this you should make sure: 1 Watchtower library 2005/6/7 in your Windows system works good 2 you have double boot system in your computer the other one is MS Windows 3 if you don't, you must have a legal copy of MS windows(MS Windows 95/98/2000/2003/XP/Vista), then you have right to use all non-free fonts from Microsoft Windows, you can get the fonts from the CD too.
=================================== solution 1: delete the Fonts folder in Wine,make sure that in there you have not any important fonts, which other programs need.
cd ~/.wine/drive_c/windows rm -rf Fonts
make a symbolics Link to folder "Fonts" in Windows or your other fonts folder. ln -s /media/Your_Windows_Location/Fonts Fonts
done. =================================== solution 2: you can copy all files in Windows/Fonts to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts. it's same function like above but need ca 200 MB disk space in your home folder.

wine regedit
then go to reg key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes change the follows key to a font in your language. i changed them to Songti, a very common fonts in Chinese version. “MS Shell Dlg”=”SimSun” “MS Shell Dlg 2″=”SimSun”

Sorry guys .. i did not check this bug in bugzilla for a long long time. I put it on "Resolved"/"Invalid" status since it's not a wine problem.

Not this is not an issue anymore. The fact is, wtlib need at least Wingding.ttf or it crashes because japanese version seems to rely on named font files included in Windows system.
This is still a valid bug. Metatrader seems to have the same problem.
