From the original reporter:
--- snip ---
I have radioamateur aprs software UI-View32.exe [Here's part of the log:] fixme:ole:OLEPictureImpl_SaveAsFile (0x13d390)->(0x1616b0, 0, (nil)), hacked stub. fixme:ole:OleLoadPictureEx (0xd341b4,100899,1,{00020400-0000-0000-c000-000000000046},x=0,y=0,f=0,0x34f970), partially implemented. fixme:ole:OLEPictureImpl_get_hPal unimplemented for type 3. Returning 0 palette. fixme:ole:OLEFontImpl_IPersistStreamInit_InitNew (0x14bfb0c), stub!
All those ole picture errors make me think that the bug lies in our implementation of oleaut32. Try this: wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks sh winetricks dcom98
It works now. Not clean run, but works. Good job. ... [Now there is a second problem:] UI-View32.exe put icons to over map. These shoud dissappear, when I stop program (cleaning window). Now, when I starts again software, old icons are on map. This is not accettable, so old icons should clean away from cache, when software starts or exits.
p.s. but still goins to right way... --- snip ---
So I guess it's an ole/oleaut32 problem. Confirming and changing category. Jukka-Pekka, please file another bug for the "old icons on map" problem.

--- Comment #4 from Niko Sandschneider nsandschn@gmx.de 2010-06-02 17:18:38 --- 2.39 is the 16 bit version of UI-View. According to the reporter the problem appears with the 32 bit version. It installs and starts fine here, but the program cannot be used without registration. Maybe Jukka-Pekka can retest it with a newer version of wine?

--- Comment #5 from John Wilson kc4lzn@gmail.com 2010-12-29 12:02:19 CST --- No additional information, just another user experiencing the same issue. Tried the 16 bit version and it works but after cycling through a couple of maps, the program locks up and the only out is to restart it. I am working on testing with less maps in the map directory, thinking that may be causing it to lock up. I have quite a few maps there.

--- Comment #6 from John Wilson kc4lzn@gmail.com 2010-12-29 12:24:18 CST --- Read further in the blog, installed dcom98 and runs slow. Prior to the program finally coming up, received an error. It stated "The program wdfmgr.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
After about a minute, the program did come up.
Why the error?

Abandoned is more appropriate, thanks.
