app-winsow is still overdrawn

The application-window is still overdrawn in vlc
with OpenGL selected as output-driver (0.8.5, 0.8.6, 0.8.6a)

When you "Pause" in vlc, the window is still overdrawn all the time
(the marker in the timeline is flickering)

System:
RADEON 9700 with fglrx 8.29.6 on Ubuntu Dapper (Xorg 7.0.0)
