Running Super Meat Boy (Steam version) works just fine. Everything about the
game works.

Except that it works at what appears to be 600 fps.

On the same machine, on Windows 7, it runs at a normal framerate. So it's only
in Wine that the framerate goes wonkers.

There are a few stubs, but no errors in the log.

I don't know what other information to attach, but ask and you shall receive.

I can confirm the same problem with the Steam version, with the same log as
Quinten posted.

I sent a patch series, with the last patch providing the actual fix:

The patch set seems to make an XCB assertion fail more frequently, although it
was happening before my changes.
