Bug #: 32017 Summary: Culpa Innata: in-game mouse pointer stuck in the metro scene Product: Wine Version: 1.5.15 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: winex11.drv AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: gyebro69@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
This is a long-standing bug according to AppDB. I remember playing the game with Wine 1.3.x, and I used the patch from bug #6971 to overcome the problem that time. Bug #6971 has been fixed, but the problem in Culpa Innata remained intact.
Early in the game there is a scene where the main heroine is travelling in the metro. Her PDA crashes and at this point the mouse pointer that worked without problem so far, becomes useless: it is unable to move on the screen. Since the game is mouse-driven only, there is no way to proceed further or even quit the game normally. As far as I remember, it is the only scene in the game that triggers this bug, but it makes the game unplayable.
No demo available. Plain terminal output doesn't show anything interesting. Let me know if you need a log with debug channels enabled.
Fedora 17 X.Org X Server 1.12.3

--- Comment #1 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2013-01-27 05:53:29 CST --- I re-tested this bug just to find out that the patch from bug #8854 fixes the problem with the mouse in that particular scene. The patch fixes another issue as well: the intro videos that are "unskippable" with vanilla Wine, can be skipped by pressing the right mouse button.
Tested on Fedora 18 X.Org X Server 1.13.1
