The software I want to use is an old PCL simulator. It is downloadable here
http://www.thelearningpit.com/plc/psim/psim.html

When I install it with 
 wine version wine-1.8.5 (Ubuntu 1.8.5-1ubuntu1)
I get this in the terminal

lulujoe13@lulujoe13-Satellite-A135:~/.wine/dosdevices/c:/PSIM-in-DOSBox$ wine
PSIM.exe

Prior to installing the application you need Visual Basic 6 runtime installed,
use winetricks to install it. The full command line would be "winetricks
vb6run". After that install the application and run again.

Tested on Wine 2.1, works fine.
