Summary: EasyPal under wine fails with new kernel, OK with old. Same wine. Product: Wine Version: 1.0-rc3 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: a.schapira@worldnet.att.net
Running application "EasyPal" works fine with linux kernel 2.6.24.7-92.fc8 However, with the newer kernel 2.6.25.4-10.fc8, EasyPal exhibits the following problems: 1) Sometimes it cannot find the library hamdrm.dll, although it it present and has not moved between kernels. But sometimes EasyPal does find the library, and starts, but ... 2) When it does find hamdrm.dll, it receives incorrect information from the sound card.
With the older kernel, EasyPal works fine. All of my other wine applications work properly with both kernels. These include applications that also use the sound card for signal processing.
Since EasyPal does run with the old kernel, I conclude that wine doesn't play nicely with the new kernel.
I do not know why hamdrm.dll is sometimes not found. It does not move when I change kernels.
