Today I updated Wine from 1.3.19 to 1.3.21 using the Ubuntu repository of
Wine/PPA.

When I tried to start Fallout 2, it played about 1/10th of second (100ms) the
intro video, and then hanged. If I hit ESC quick enough, I manage to pass the
intro videos, but the sound is lost in the game.

Then I tried WoW, which have not had any severe audio problems (only lost audio
about once in an hour, but that can be fixed to switch between hardware and
software acceleration inside the game), but that game has also lost its sound
completely!

I even tried to downgrade Wine, but that does not help. Did the new version
something to the config files that is not repairable?

I didn't manage to get any good debug information, sorry about that. I'm
interested if anyone else has experienced anything like this.

I tried with another machine that has same home directory, and there was no
such problem. So I'm pretty sure this is not about Wine version upgrade, but
some kind of other sound problem.

All other sound applications work fine at both machines.

If this is not a wine bug, then this report should be qualified as invalid (i
mean bug's status).

If that is not issue with Wine, it should be soleved in another place.
