Summary: AutoCad DWF Writer/No TCP/IP functioning Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: jeff.garner@sanmina-sci.com
fixme:msi:MSI_OpenDatabaseW open failed r = 80030003 for L"http://www.autodesk.com/global/dwfwriter/installer/DWFWriter.msi"
This is one of Three Apps that I have attempted to install today that are attempting to reachout to the Internet.
I am using the .53 version of Wine. AutoCAD DWF Writer ver3
It seems that wine is not using the Linux's TCP/IP stack to hit the internet. I have attempted this on two machines with the same result. Both running SLED10sp1, wine ver. 0.9.53
It seems that wine is not actually using TCP in some instances.

--- Comment #1 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2008-01-17 14:55:49 --- Don't guess what Wine might not do. TCP is a long ways away. But not handling http:// package source is more like a problem here.

As I said, this is one of three installs. I just happened to grab that error. Agile also gives an error when it attempts to install, stating that TCP/IP is not installed.
so I GUESS, your Answer is a typical reply to someone requesting Help then?

--- Comment #3 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2008-01-17 16:14:36 --- Bugzilla is not a place to ask for help. It's a place to file Wine bugs. What developers do with those reports - it's their business. Users usually might get asked to provide more information. But won't receive any support.
As for additional information, what exactly were you installing? Is there a freely downloadable version? And if so, does it have the same problem?
If you have something else that reports you other errors / problems - open new bugs. One problem per bug!
