Additional Information: On my netbook with same OS and wine 1.5.24 but Intel Atom N455 1.66 GHz, 1 GB Ram the effect is about 10 times smaller. On a Pentium 4 PC with same OS and wine, its the same: 10 times faster.
I tried the Atom D525 with disabled Hyperthreading (only 2 instead of 4 cores), but no success, it remains extremely slow.

--- Comment #3 from Philipp Brueckmann ph.brueckmann@bluewin.ch 2013-02-26 10:16:27 CST --- Finally I found the solution: In "wine configuration" - Graphics - Window-Settings: disable all options. By default two of the options there are activated. They caused the trouble.

That is a workaround, not a real solution.
I realized that all my ABACOM - programs have problems with those "allow the window manager to...." options in wine configuration. The problem of disappearing sub-windows when clicking in the main window is now solved too since I disabled these options. This is valid for all my ABACOM-programs (SPlan, Layout and Frontdesign)

Sorry, but at the moment I'm not capable to run a regression test. But I want to give as many information as possible.
As I see it now, it is not a pure regression problem. The problem is also present in wine 1.4 but significantly less severe as in wine 1.5.
The problem is clearly related to the graphic option "allow the window manager to control the windows" in "Configure wine". When this option is enabled, the delays are there, when disabled the delays disappear.

--- Comment #8 from Philipp Brueckmann ph.brueckmann@bluewin.ch 2013-03-01 03:47:35 CST --- My OS ist xubuntu, originally with xfwm4 window manager. As I think the problem is in the window manager, I tried SPlan on a ubunutu PC. The delays don't appear there, also with the mentioned graphic options enabled. So I changed on my xubuntu PC the window manager to compiz. With compiz there are no delays anymore.

--- Comment #9 from Michael Stefaniuc mstefani@redhat.com 2013-04-27 12:02:32 CDT --- Ok, I'm marking then the bug as invalid as the issue is with the window manager and not Wine.
