I stated I have already tried a native dsound.dll

Tried again with 1.1.19, and the only difference it makes is filling my console
with these:

err:wave:wodPlayer_WriteMaxFrags Error in writing wavehdr. Reason: Resource
temporarily unavailable

The "workaround" link introduces nothing new.

Michael, what sound server are you using?

Could someone change the severity of this?  It's not major...
