At start Mathematica opens two windows: one with decoration and main menu, and
another with startup screen. On Windows when you click close button on menu
window, Mathematica quits. On Wine it just hangs.

Is this still an issue in current (1.7.36 or newer) wine? If so, please attach
terminal output.

Yes, still a problem in wine-1.7.36. After I press close button, nothing
appears in the terminal, I just have to kill wineserver.

Could you test wine 1.8 or 1.9 series or wine-staging 1.9 series? Also attach
console output.

Still reproducible with wine-1.9.17 with the same symptoms, including lack of
any terminal output.
