--- Comment #2 from Jeff Zaroyko jeffz@jeffz.name 2009-06-08 03:07:37 --- With a clean prefix, I can't seem to reproduce it here, either through running Setup.exe directly or the Autorun.exe, both start and run the installer fine, I completed the install without a problem.

Sorry I'm a newb, but what is a 'clean prefix'?
A clean prefix is one where nothing has been installed or run under. The default wine prefix is ~/.wine, you can set the active prefix using an environment variable by running the installer like so:
cd /media/cdrom WINEPREFIX=/home/daniel/wine-bf1942 ~/git/wine setup.exe

--- Comment #6 from junk@merheb.com 2009-06-15 18:08:02 --- I have run into the same problem installing Battlefield 1942. I tried using the WINEPREFIX with the same results. I have also run into a similar issue installing Call of Duty 2.
System: Kubuntu 9.04 with Wine 1.1.23 installed.

--- Comment #7 from Jeff Zaroyko jeffz@jeffz.name 2009-06-18 04:23:47 --- no response. still fine here with latest git, most likely a dup of 18809. Either wait for 1.1.24 or use git.
