Summary: StarCraft II crashes unpredictably or has severe graphic errors after a few minutes Product: Wine Version: 1.2 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: yllohy@googlemail.com

StarCraft II ran smoothly in wine. A couple of days ago, two parameters changed: - I updated OpenSuse from 11.2 to 11.3. - StarCraft II Patch 17 came out.
Now SC2 is very unstable. The following happens when I launch StarCraft II Beta:
1) About 70% of the time, SC2 would crash immediately and not draw its window. 2) About 15% of the time, SC2 would crash after a couple of seconds in main menu. 3) About 10% of the time, SC2 would crash after matchmaking (search for player... players found.. crash (before countdown starts) 4) About 5% of the time, SC2 would run smoothly, but about 10 minutes into the game all graphics will be corrupted (the game itself continues to run and still responds to user input). Every single object is split along the diagonal: the bottom right half is black while the top left half is normal. This is true for every unit, every icon, and worst of all for the whole screen.
Attached a log-file for case 3). Please tell me if you need more log-files.
Wine Version 1.2 + patch as described in the SC2 Howto: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=19376.
StarCraft II Patch 17
OpenSuse 11.3, error occurs on gnome and kde alike.

--- Comment #5 from yllohy@googlemail.com 2010-07-19 12:56:27 --- This seems to be a duplicate of #23323 and not a bug in wine. It seems to be a kernel bug: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16315
Upgrading to linux kernel 2.6.35-rc5 worked for me, but downgrading to 2.6.32 is reported to work as well.
