The System: XP1800/512MB, RH7.3 "everything" intalled, w/Ximian Gnome, all w/latest updates, codeweavers-wine-20020904-7.i386.rpm
I run winesetup from an xterm. The wizard starts, I click "next" on the ~/.wine/config dialog. I get a popup that says "Autodetection in progress, please wait...". That popup goes away. The wizard window blanks. Then winesetup bails out with the following:
X Error of failed request: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied) Major opcode of failed request: 88 (X_FreeColors) Serial number of failed request: 688 Current serial number in output stream: 862
