Summary: Problems connecting to display Product: Wine Version: 20050930 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-x11driver AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: bvr102@psu.edu
I am trying to run Riven and the program will start, but when it gets into the game, it is unable to do the video because it cannot connect to my display device. I am using Fedora Core 4 and installed the 20050930 FC3.i686 rpm. I also have an NVIDIA G-Force 4 video card and am using the drivers given by nvidia. I have done nothing special to the system, so I see no reason why the display would be anything but :0.0, which is what the $DISPLAY variable is set to. I tried to restrict and unrestrict my xhosts, but neither would work.
Here is the relevant output:
_X11TransSocketOpenCOTSClient: Unable to open socket for local _X11TransOpen: transport open failed for local/BVR102:0 _X11TransSocketOpenCOTSClient: Unable to open socket for tcp _X11TransOpen: transport open failed for tcp/localhost:0 x11drv: Can't open display: :0.0 Please ensure that your X server is running and that $DISPLAY is set correctly.
Any suggestions?
