Summary: Window manager panel elements remain on the fullscreened game Product: Wine Version: 0.9.44. Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: wine-gui AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: rzadzins@wit.edu.pl
In wine 0.9.44, when i run StarCraft, panels from my xfce4 wm remain on top of the screen (starcraft runs in fullscreen mode). They disappear when connecting to the battle.net. This didn't happen in 0.9.42, not sure about 43 but are there in this version.

--- Comment #2 from killertux killertux@suomi24.fi 2007-08-30 13:08:59 --- I tried to reproduce this on Fluxbox but it did not happen... and I even set panels to be top of all other window... so I guess I can't reproduce this without more specific instructions or using different window manager.

--- Comment #3 from Patryk Rzadzinski rzadzins@wit.edu.pl 2007-09-07 15:36:00 --- Hello,
Sorry for delays, i've been away...
I've redone my xfce4.4 desktop config, but the problem persists. The setting for panels in my cfg are "fixed position" - maybe that is the cause. I hope someone else with xfce4.4 could test/confirm this. My theory is that since the window handling had changed in the new version, it behaves like this with cooperation with xfce only?

--- Comment #4 from Johannes Röhl jroehl@freenet.de 2007-09-09 04:25:03 --- I can confirm this issue under xfce4 with wine 0.9.44. It seems like only ddraw and d3d games are affected (tested: Sacrifice, Gothic II, Half Life 2). However OpenGl games are working well(Warcraft III, Prey, MDK 2). The problem occurs some where between 0.9.43 and 0.9.44. I will test regression soon.

--- Comment #7 from Johannes Röhl jroehl@freenet.de 2007-09-19 03:38:39 --- The commit description says "winex11: Update the wm hints also when mapping a previously zero-size window" However it looks like wm hints will be updated BEFORE the window has been resized. Doesn´t it? Should I open an xfce4 bugreport?

Someone with appropriate rights should mark it as INVALID.
