Can you try newer wine? The last attachment contained this

err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 1280x1024x32 @60! (XRandR)

And its most likely the reason why it didnt work. I am assuming your xrandr doesnt have such resolution. Setting winecfg virtual desktop to that resolution could solve the issue.
