Hum... Are you sure that Max Payne 3 launcher requires .NET 35 ? I installed dotnet20 with winetricks and i can update the game and "Rockstar Social Club"
So, after to install it, i launch the launcher or MaxPayne3.exe and i have the same error message. (see my attached file)
PS : When i look the Max Payne 3's box, i see that the game requires directx, .Net Frameworks 2.0 and vcrun2008.

I confirm. After installing dotnet2 game started. But only black screen, cursor and "Loading..." text.
I have this message too if i use the Reloaded crack... Without it, the game crash like i said in comment #2.
I fact, after to press "Enter", the game is loading because the "Rockstar Game Social Club" window must be appear to log in. When you are connected in the RGSC, the loading is finished and the main menu appears.
RGSC is the new problem now, it does not works in wine.

There isn't crack to don't use RGSC. But like the crack allow to launch the game, we must to find a solution to support the copy protection in Wine... And i don't know which copy protection the game use. :p

Yes Austin, i tried to use it but ProtectionID found no protection for MaxPayne.exe... And i'm sure that the protection is in this executable. I sent a email to Rockstar Game to know protection they used for this game. I wait her answer...

So there is no possibility to support this protection in Wine ? :( It's possible to request a demo for GameShield... If a Wine dev could help. :)

--- Comment #20 from Berillions berillions@gmail.com --- I add Sebastian from Wine-Staging team because the game runs with wine-staging and i hope that it will be included in Vanilla Wine. But I don't know which and how to find the correct patch which fix this issue.
Unfortunatly, the game has the bug 40531 and 40535

Works with these:
fonts-Missing_Fonts kernel32-PE_Loader_Fixes kernel32-SetFileCompletionNotificationModes ntdll-RtlQueryPackageIdentity ntdll-RunlevelInformationInActivationContext server-LABEL_SECURITY_INFORMATION
kernel32-PE_Loader_Fixes is bug 42125
kernel32-SetFileCompletionNotificationModes is bug 38960
There is no bug for RunlevelInformationInActivationContext and RtlQueryPackageIdentity ?
server-LABEL_SECURITY_INFORMATION is bug 42014
