Source based games will not start in steam after recent updates to Source
engine.

A popup window will appear with text "Preparing to launch Counter Strike:
Source...". Then the pop-up disappears and the game will not start.

Same happens with all Source based games.

Are you sure this is a wine bug? Do you  have a windows partition to confirm
this? During this update I none if my 4 pc's would launch any steam games until
steam released a patch. This is now working fine for me under Wine and windows
now

surely this can be considered fixed or invalid by now (as plenty of steam games
are known to work)?

I can't reproduce this with HL, CS, TF(2).
Resolving 'fixed'.

$ wine --version
