--- Comment #3 from testing.tigerwolf@mail.com 2012-08-18 10:42:30 CDT --- This problem of dark rendering remains using wine 1.5.10. But the brightness option in game menu is now available and operationnal.
By configuring correctly the brightness, after launching the game, it works correctly and there is no more problems. After exiting the game and restart it, there is either no problem : settings are retained.
So the initial problem seems to be due to a bad default brightness setting, at lauching the game for the first time. The brightness settings are too dark.
The second problem mentionned previously (the contrast remains dark after ending the game) is due to another bug : brightness settings apply themselves to the desktop (bug #18391).
So this bug report only concerns the bad default brightness setting, at lauching the game, which remains on wine 1.5.10

--- Comment #4 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for two years. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.25 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #5 from georg_mueller@safe-mail.net --- I'm running Wine 1.7.50 and there is some issue about brightness adjustement. Sometime the programme works without any problems, sometimes not. I figured out, that the command wineboot reduces the risk of wrong adjustments (or it is just a unhappy coincidence).

Can you retest newer wine? Also accordin to appdb version 2 has the same issue (1 test report).

--- Comment #7 from Phil Underwood beardydoc@gmail.com --- I can confirm this bug is still present with wine version 2.4 on Ubuntu 16.10. Adjusting brightness and contrast settings in the video options menu seems to fix it.
