Recently (within last 2 months) something changed in tray icon functionality. I am testing latest git version under kde3. Linux distribution is Gentoo. Ebuild used is the standard portage wine-9999.
The problem shows like empty (invisible) application icon in tray. Mouse cursor does change to "standard" Windows pointer when I put "X Window" cursor to tray. But no mouse clicks (both left and right) are handled by application.

Just reinstalled Steam in a clean wineprefix, the icon continues invisible and unclickable. I'd try to do a regression test but I can't remember when was the last working version. If someone can inform me about that, I'd be grateful.

--- Comment #4 from Yorik van Havre yorik.vanhavre@gmail.com 2010-12-05 09:46:41 CST --- I just notice now that debian recently modified the ia32-libs package and some libraries are not in /usr/lib32 anymore, but in /lib32, so they are not found by wine at configure, some of them very likely to be related with the systray icon (png, dbus). I'll try to solve that and see if there is any change.
Lots of people use steam and nobody reported that issue so I suspect it is a pretty local problem...
