Created attachment 60186 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=60186 Error Message Received
Whenever I try to install the latest Spotify version, I get the error message mentioned in the title.
I tried installing using a clean 32-bit Wine prefix as described in bug 33508, but I still get the same error message.
I downloaded the installer straight from Spotify's Windows download page.
Lubuntu 17.10 64-bit

--- Comment #2 from Chris Chris.Samberg@Gmail.com --- The installer link is here: https://www.spotify.com/us/download/windows/
Also I ran it using Windows 7, as the installer requires Windows 7+

Workarounds
1. You have to use wine-staging to install spotify (wine doesn`t work). Cd into the directory where the installer resides and do:
/opt/wine-staging/bin/wine runas /trustlevel:0x20000 spotify-1-0-62-508.exe
2. I tested version 1.0.62508. You have to run this version with
/opt/wine-staging/bin/wine Spotify.exe --no-sandbox
Otherwise you`ll get a black screen.
3. winetricks nocrashdialog
There`s an initial (non-fatal) crash
4. winetricks corefonts
For preventing garbled text
