Screenshot 1 : incorerectly displayed chars.

Unicode codes instead of cyrillic chars displayed in the left part of the help
window (see screenshot 1). When triing to close the window, an error reported
(see screenshot 2).

Yes, winh other chm files I experience the same problem: cyrillic displayed
normally only in right part, while in the left part there are only strange
codes.

You can download trial files from this page for example:

Please test with the following command:

Still in Wine 1.3.10. Also all the icons on the top of the help window
(including "forward", "backward" and "settings") displayed as printer.

It seems that not all files affected, for example, this file is displayed well
(except the icons):

And this displayed incorrectly, although it uses not Cyrillic, but non-standard
Latin characters:

This ticket has not been updated for over 900 days.

Is this still an issue in wine version 1.6-rc3 or higher or is this to be
closed as abandoned ?

I can reproduce the issue in wine 1.3.2 (not rendered entities) but not in
1.6-rc4 (cyrillic ok) using the following file.

Yes, it's fixed with 9033b14438c44c7d00ddd3542a727d597ac4ca45. I manually
reverted it and contents list now shows escaped sequences instead of text.
