Summary: Family Tree Maker 8 installer hangs Product: Wine Version: 0.9.45. Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: NEW Keywords: Installer Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: wine-misc AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: dank@kegel.com
Family Tree Maker 8 install goes fine until the end, when it asks you to pick a web browser. There's no browser in the list, even if you have Firefox installed, and none of the buttons work, not even cancel. The app seems to be installed properly, though.

--- Comment #1 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2007-09-22 23:20:55 --- Doing 'winetricks fakeie6' before installation gets past this problem, and shows "Internet Explorer 4.0" in the list of browsers.
The next problem, incidentally, is a dialog saying "Cannot show video" at the end of installation. But that's not fatal, the installer even starts up the app happily.

--- Comment #5 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2008-12-01 10:11:05 --- Tested again. It works!
Instead of the "can't play video" dialog, one sees a nice inline message in the help file, and the fixme fixme:winhelp:HLPFILE_BrowseParagraph Got an embedded element *33800,2,ftmvideo.avi
but that's a different bug. And it still doesn't find Firefox, but it does see IE in the list.
I'll file bugs for those two.
