[Bug 7425] gothic 2 gold installs without problems but will not start

console output of gothic 2 started with win98

attachement created "g2-w98-output"

now g2 gave out an error dialog!
title bar reads: Gothic II - Night of the Raven
text reads: No ASPI layer found on your system. This is necessary for
successful authentication.

Strange that is because the same computer setup has no problems with Warcraft
3, maybe they use a different copy protection.

So, what do I do now, in order to play Gothic2?
