--- Comment #2 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
filling some fields and confirming on behalf of OP. The app suffers from bug 47165 (black UI) as well.

--- Comment #3 from Clive Bennett cb2mail@icloud.com --- Not sure but I may have a clue to problem.
Cache suspected...
Explanation of reasoning: The files being added to destination folder seems to fill a cache and then when cache is filled or full it starts to play some excerpts of tunes in the cache then crashes. On one occasion I stopped the adding of the files to iTunes folder at the point where the music started to play. The music has kept playing, also the files are still being added to the folder that are in the cache.
It has also added another 110 folders of music after I cancelled the transfer of files to the target folder, this may have been approximately 6-10GB of music.
All while listening to the graeatest hits of the Stereophonics of which I didn't start playing. The song playing right now is "You Help us"... Go figure that one!
This information may be of use and there again...

--- Comment #4 from Clive Bennett cb2mail@icloud.com --- Also another bug found: Target folder of iTunes has reset to default. So library is now contained within "The OS" Directory and not my chosen directory.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48683
--- Comment #5 from Clive Bennett cb2mail@icloud.com --- Another is that I have tried to add the same folder into the target library. It says it's it's working, but it is not filling the target library with anything. Have checked target library, there is no increase of files or folders.
Interesting faults.
So to recap:
iTunes is producing a dark screen, adding files to a directory is producing strange results, Chosen directory gets cancelled and iTunes returns to default taget folder on OS
