Kindle for PC is installed on Linux Mint Debian Edition using Wine version 1.4-1. Many books are marked as new, even though they have been opened and partly read on a different device (Android tablet or Kindle for PC running on Windows XP native). Any attempt to perform an action (read, remove from device) on a book marked as new causes a crash.

--- Comment #7 from markealray@hotmail.com 2013-09-17 19:24:54 CDT --- I am having the same problem on a computer with wine 1.6-i386, Kindle 1.10.6 and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS upgraded from a disk image of 11.10. On start-up after a reinstall, the program said it could not find the directory.
A computer running kindle 1.10.1, the same wine version and 12.04 loaded from a disk image works fine.

The other backtraces looked like they were generated on an i386 arch machine. Just wanted to add this in case it narrows down where the problem is originating, since it also occurs on X64 machines.
This happened on 1.6 as well as the 1.7 beta, identical backtrace.
