Summary: Zinc-based apps don't run? (Go Diego Go Wolf Pup Rescue, Virble) Product: Wine Version: 0.9.57. Platform: Other URL: http://flashgamesite.com/download/new/602-Virble OS/Version: other Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: dank@kegel.com
Go Diego Go won't run unless you do 'winetricks mdac27'. Once past that, it seems to hang with a white window on startup.
Go Diego Go's log had lines like 0009:Call KERNEL32.MultiByteToWideChar(00000000,00000000,03d553a8 "onFormReposition!}}v{}!MainForm!}}v{}!0!}}v{}!0",0000002f,0033e24c,000007ff) ret=004051ff ... 0009:Call KERNEL32.MultiByteToWideChar(00000000,00000000,006782e8 "mdm.__callFunction",00000012,0033e248,000007ff) ret=004051ff
and it turns out mdm is Zinc; see http://www.multidmedia.com/ Zinc is like a predecessor to Adobe Air, it lets you build single .exe's that bundle the flash runtime, etc.
I looked around for another app based on Zinc, and found Virble, which is downloadable from http://flashgamesite.com/download/new/602-Virble It seems to also hang with a white screen on startup
