Yes, you need to enable javascript for both winehq.com and google.com.
Another solution would be nice(sending only "searchtext" and
"site:appdb.winehq.org" to google and getting back the result...)

Is a <noscript>....</noscript> already present, or should one be added to
notify the user to enable javascript?

It would be nice to tell people that the page requires javascript so people
that have it can turn it on, or get browsers that support it. I'm not sure how
the <noscript> tag works but I'd be interested in any more information that
could make it easier to fix the problem without having to do a lot of research.

Firefox 2.0.0.7 (with Flashblock and AdBlock Plus installed), Fedora Core 5.

Here's a site with info on the noscript
tag:http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_noscript.asp . I'm not sure though, if
Firefox with noscript enabled will show the tag, as I remember that noscript
has an option to hide the contents of the tag.
And to clarify, this happenned to me before on Firefox 2.0.0.7 with NoScript on
both Win 2k and Ubuntu Feisty.

Konqueror 3.5.8 works a little better. It seems to show the search results, but
the box containing the results does not grow. It stays very thin, around
20-30px high. Only once I saw that the result box grew to the full page, but I
cannot reproduce (race between getting the results and drawing the page?)

Today at work it works ok. Were there any changes done?
Firefox 2.0.0.5 (with Flashblock and AdBlock Plus installed), Fedora Core 6.

I'll check that page again from my home machine in the evening.

Sorry for an false alarm (with JavaScript enabled). It was a problem with a
rule in AdBlock Plus.

I'm using the search just fine with Konqueror 3.5.7.

The best option here would perhaps be to notify the user that JavaScript should
be enabled, but allow him to use the AppDB's own search functionality.  It has
a few problems, but it should be better than no search at all. :)

You do not need javascript anymore. Or this maybe for noscript.

In case some one still does not understand what's the problem. When javascript
IS OFF search DOES NOT work! Google by itself works PERFECTLY without
javascript. So whatever winehq uses javascript for in this case is totally
unnecessary.

searchprovider for Konqueror

you might find this searchprovider for konqueror useful until this gets fixed.
save to ~/.kde/share/services/searchproviders and use 'appdb:search' in the
addressbar.
