excel2003 file with lines and arrows that cannot be selected (removed)

cannot select drawn line and arrows in excel2003 sheet and in inbedded chart
(for removal).

creating the lines and arrows with drawing tools is fine though.

lines and arrows can be selected when file is opened in LibreOffice CALC

truly annoying... :(

Please retest in 4.x, 1.6.2 has not been supported for years.

i work in an i386 laptop running xubuntu 16.04.6

does wine 4.x run on i386's?  does it still emulate "windows XP"?

i thought linux would keep wine upgraded to its latest version.

which upgrade steps would you recommend, please?

upgrading to wine 4 stable fixed the selecting of drawing items EXCEL2003
problem.

now i cannot switch my wine session to dark mode for night work though...

i used to switch using InTheDark.msstyles under my previous wine version (XP)
but the upgrade now purged the "configure wine" icon where i could activate
InTheDark...

what would you recommend to switch wine 4.0 to get a dark session for night
work?
