--- Comment #2 from Rosanne DiMesio dimesio@earthlink.net 2009-03-20 12:16:48 --- I had no problem scrolling to the last page in the example document in Word 2007. I even tried it without the riched20 override--still no hanging or error messages. This is in openSUSE 10.3, Wine 1.1.17.

The example document does not hang for me either (OpenSUSE 11.1, Wine 1.1.9) However, I do have another document that causes Word to crash. If you scroll slowly through this document, it will hang at the end of the 5th page where it has several Excel graphs. If you scroll really fast past the 5th page and reach the end, the document will not cause Word to crash even when you scroll back to the 5th page.

What overrides do you have set? I have no problem scrolling through your document at any speed with riched20 set to native and usp10 set to (native, builtin). Without the override for usp10, I can't even open it--Word crashes trying. Without the override for riched20, but with the one for usp10, the document opens and scrolls fine for me, but does not display any text in the graphs that cause your system to hang.

The document you uploaded also contains several graphs. Do you see this problem in other long documents that don't have any graphic elements? If you delete the graphs in the example document, does the problem go away? I suspect the issue is not the length of the document, but what's in it.

We need to reopen this bug.
That's not how it works. If a bug is fixed by a patch that goes into Wine, it stays CLOSED FIXED. If later on, some later version of Wine regresses and the bug happens to occur again, a new bug needs to be filed with the results of the regression test.
The only time a bug would be reopened if it wasn't actually fixed in the release it was said to be fixed in.
